Theo Trianta - MEN'S FQPL Head COACH

Mackay Wanderers FC are pleased to announce Theo Triantafillopoulos to the club as their Mens FQPL Head Coach for Season 2023.
Triantafillopoulos, is keen to kick start his move North with success at Wanderers.
“I knew the moment I spoke with Wanderers that I wanted to be a part of it. I want to build something special here. The club has been extremely welcoming to me, and my family and I want to repay that”
It was immediately clear that Theo was the right fit for the club. He was excited about getting a look at the squad and where he could add value.
“As soon as I knew the club was interested, I went to work. I reviewed matches online, stats, player profiles, everything! My pen hasn’t stopped in the last few weeks. I just can’t wait to start and motivate players to be the best they can be. I know my strength is getting the best out of each individual.”
“I know it’s a massive year coming up for the club. 100 years is amazing and such an achievement. All my success has come from clubs built on excellent culture. I’m here to form that at this proud club for not just next year, but also beyond.”
When pressed on the upcoming season Triantafillopoulos didn’t mince his words.
“Everyone saw Whitsunday was the benchmark last year. That excites me. I want to make this club the benchmark. I want to build a legacy.”
Triantafillopoulos had two words for the playing group and the pre-season ahead.

JUSTIN WALDON - WOMEN'S FQPL HEAD COACH
Mackay Wanderers FC are pleased to welcome back Justin Waldon as the Women's FQPL Head Coach for season 2023. Waldon, re-signs after a successful 2022 season in which the team won the Premiership and made it all the way to the Grand Final. Justin is keen to build on this success. 2023 will see the ladies leap into the FQPL Competition, and Waldon stated his ambitions will be the same regardless. With this success, it has seen growth in the women's player numbers, along with the succession of Junior girls coming through the ranks to join the FQPL squad in 2023. “There are some quality women amongst the playing group already and with the addition of a few key players I see no reason why we can’t compete with the best of them.” When asked why he was happy to take the role on again, it was clear Waldon had unfinished business. “I want the club to achieve success. It was heartbreaking to lose the Grand Final last year after we’d shown our class all season. There’s something special about the group of girls we have. They’ll move mountains to get another crack at it this coming season.” Mackay Wanderers are excited to have Justin on board again and wish him all the best for Season 2023. Ladies looking to join the club should keep an eye on our Facebook page for further updates or can contact the club directly via messenger. |
