Mackay Wanderers Junior carnival
Mackay Wanderers Junior carnival is a much anticipated carnival on the regioanl football calendar and enters its fifth year this year. After its successful inception in 2016, the Junior carnival attracts players from the entire Mackay & Regional Football zone, encompassing teams from as far north to Bowen, west to Moranbah, and south to Sarina.
The day consists of small sided non competitive games for teams from U5 to U8 with all participants receiving a Participation ribbon. U9 - U11 have the opportunity to play in a mini competition which sees the winning team players receiving a prize each. Competitive age groups under 12 through to U14/15 play a series of games with the winning team being awarded medallions.
Club trophies awarded on the day are March Past Winner, Fair Play/Spirit of Carnival and Overall Club Winner.
All non competitive teams receive 1 point towards the overall trophy and competitive teams will win points according to game result- 3pts for a win, 1 for draw and 0 for a loss.
